Using Drama to Teach History at KS2 (Jane Burr)(London Drama in partnership with National Drama)
Using Drama techniques, we will give guidance on how to help children think like historians.
On Thursday 23rd March 7-8.30pm on Zoom we will be joined by Jane Burr who will give guidance on using Drama to teach History at KS2.
About this session
Using primary and secondary sources as stimuli, we will explore through still image, marking the moment, deepening characterisation and critical thinking to help children think like historians.
Why this session is good to come to
Based on The Vikings invasion at Lindisfarne, this session will take you and your pupils on a journey through a variety of sources using drama to question the most likely interpretations of what happened in 793 AD.
Session fee
This session is £10 but discounted to London Drama and National Drama Members to £5. Please contact londondrama1@gmail.com to acquire the promo code.
About the session leader
Jane Burr has been teaching for over 30 years across EYFS, KS1, 2, 3 and 4. She’s a drama teacher at heart, even though she’s currently teaching Year 4.
