Dorothy Heathcote, who died on 8th October 2011, had a remarkable, crucial influence on the development of drama in education across the world. Her pioneering work with teachers and the broader community of educators and those they teach developed a body of practice and philosophy that was innovative, radical and, at times, controversial. She was inspirational.
This publication contains keynotes and presentations from the proceedings of the National Drama International Conference 2013 in which drama practitioners from across the world gathered in London to critically reflect on and celebrate the work of this towering figure.
The four keynotes by Gavin Bolton, Cecily O’Neill, John O’Toole and David Booth are presented as MP3 files together with verbatim transcriptions so that those who were not able to be there can hear as well as read what these remarkable practitioners had to say.
